Breaking: ED team attacked during raid

Thiruvananthapuram, May 27, 2026: Tension erupted in Thiruvananthapuram after alleged supporters of Communist Party of India (Marxist) attacked vehicles carrying Enforcement Directorate officials during a raid operation near the residence of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
According to reports, chaos broke out outside Vijayan’s residence as Left workers allegedly resorted to stone-pelting and attacked ED vehicles with bricks while officials were leaving the area after conducting searches.
Eyewitnesses said sloganeering and protests intensified during the operation, forcing the ED team to leave amid heavy commotion and heightened security concerns.
Several videos circulating on social media showed damaged vehicles and clashes near the area, though officials have not yet confirmed whether any injuries were reported during the incident.
The violence reportedly erupted following ED raids linked to an ongoing investigation. Security personnel were deployed to control the situation as tensions escalated outside the former Chief Minister’s residence.
