Chandigarh, February 3, 2026:
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday launched a sharp, veiled attack on the head of Dera Beas, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, without naming him directly.
Bhagwant Mann took to social media on Tuesday morning and posted a cryptic message in Punjabi, which political observers interpreted as an indirect reference to the controversy.
His X post, written in Gurmukhi Punjabi , reads
Roman script
“Kal ban jaan bhāven ajj ban jaan,
adalatā̃ dā othē rabb rākha,
jithē mulāqātī hī judge ban jān.”
The Chief Minister’s remarks came a day after the Dera Beas chief made a strong public statement in support of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who is currently lodged in Nabha Jail.
It may be recalled that on Monday, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon paid an unexpected visit to Nabha Jail and met Majithia. Following the meeting, the Dera chief told mediapersons that Majithia was his friend and that he had deliberately come to meet him.
“Majithia is my friend, and I would definitely come to meet him,” he said.
Commenting on the cases registered against the SAD leader, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon described them as “false and baseless” in his personal assessment. However, he added that investigating agencies and governments were performing their duties and should be allowed to proceed strictly as per law.
Against this backdrop, Bhagwant Mann took to social media on Tuesday morning and posted a cryptic message in Punjabi, which political observers interpreted as an indirect reference to the controversy.
