Chief Imam Dr. Ilyasi urges Indian Muslims to celebrate Eid at home
New Delhi, May 11, 2021: Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam, All India Imam Organization on Tuesday urged Indian Muslims to celebrate Eid festival at home as the COVID-19 rages across the nation.
“I want to appeal to all Indians and especially to my Muslim brothers on the celebration of Eid. You all know how Coronavirus is spreading and the situation is deteriorating each day. During the difficult and painful time, I want to request everyone to follow the guidelines issued by the Government of India on COVID-19 so that we can protect ourselves and also others,” said Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam
“On May 13 or 14, we will have EID. Presently only a few people are performing Namaz at the mosque. I request everyone to perform Namaz and celebrate Eid from the safety of their homes. Just like you all did last year. The COVID situation is only getting worse with each day. Eid is all about happiness. Stay at home to protect your happiness. Only step out of home when it is really necessary. Let us all pray to Allah for ending this COVID,” he added.
