ED conducts raids at premises of AAP MP Ashok Mittal

Jalandhar (Punjab), April 15, 2026: In a major early-morning operation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted searches at multiple locations linked to AAP Rajya Sabha Deputy Leader Ashok Kumar Mittal, including his residence and office premises.
The central probe agency also carried out raids at the campus of Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara, which is owned by the Lovely Group led by Mittal. He is the founder and chancellor of the university and manages it along with his brothers, Ramesh Mittal and Naresh Mittal.
According to sources, ED teams from Jalandhar and Chandigarh targeted several business entities associated with the Lovely Group. Besides LPU, searches were also conducted at Tetr College of Business and Masters’ Union College of Business in Gurugram.
The action is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Officials said the raids began early Wednesday and covered a wide network of establishments linked to the group.
In addition to educational institutions, premises such as sweet shops, automobile businesses, and a distance education centre owned by the group were also searched, along with residences of the owners, including Mittal.
