Ferozepur, April 30: The polling at Booth No.116 in ITI (Boys) started late by 20 minutes due to defective EVM. The voters have lined up well before the start of the voting to avoid standing in the scorching heat. The EVM was set to right with the help of adjoining Polling Officers. There was a great enthusiasm among the voters to cast their vote early because of various reasons, first; due to extensive awareness programme under the SVEEP project, anti-incumbency factor, second; to avoid standing in the scorching heat and third; voters want to see the impact of their vote, fourth; participation of youths and lastly the first-time voters. A special counter was also set up to issue appreciation letters from Election Commission of India to encourage the first time voter. By the time, the babushahi.com visited early morning, upto 8 AM, none of the first time voter has reached the polling station to cast his vote.
