Olympian Surjeet Hockey Society hails Indian Hockey team's stellar performance in Olympics

Congratulating team India for its historic feat in Tokyo Olympics, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Ghanshyam Thori today said that it will pave way for restoring the pristine glory of national game in the country.
In his congratulatory message to the team, the Deputy Commissioner, who is the President of Olympian Surjeet Hockey Academy, said that the team India led by Captain Manpreet Singh has made the entire country feel proud by this spectacular victory against Germany. He bemoaned that despite being our national game, the hockey had lagged behind in sports arena. However, Mr Thori said that this win has ended the 41 years drought by bagging the medal In Olympics after four decades.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this victory will go down in golden words in the annals of sports history . He said that Captain Manpreet Singh, who hails from Mithapur village of district, have scripted a new success story and will be ever remembered for his stellar role. Mr Thori said that this will also further help to channelise the unbounded energy of youth in a positive manner especially in field of sports.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this day has proved that game of hockey was on path of revival. Showering heaps of praise on the team, he said the time has upheld the glorious legacy of the great Olympians born in the country. Mr Thori said that this victory has laid the foundation of a great movement aimed at revival of the national game.
