Chandigarh, October 3, 2017: Evading police since conviction of rape convict Dera chief, his adopted daughter Honeypreet dramatically appeared on TV Channels.
She hinted at likely “surrender” before court while pleading innocence during her TV appearance.
Interestingly, the media succeeded in locating her after the police failed to do so for over a month.
In the TV interview, she answered many questions related to her mysterious disappearance and her state of mind all these days.
She termed the sedition case registered against her as baseless. How the allegation of rioting could be leveled against her as she had been under the police watch since arrival of Dera chief at CBI’s Panchkula court till he was taken to Rohtak jail post conviction, she argued.
Honeypreet clarified that she was very much in the country and not fled abroad as was being rumoured.
She would approach Punjab and Haryana High Court to seek legal remedy after failing to get relief from Delhi High Court which she approached on the legal advise of her lawyers.
The high profile aide of convicted Dera chief, Honeypreet, while crying during the interview, alleged she was deeply hurt by her character assassination in the media and her pious father-daughter relation with Gurmeet Ram Rahim was defiled without any basis.
She would fight legally to prove her innocence, she maintained alleging the police indulged in witch-hunt in face of the fact that she accompanied the Dera chief in helicopter with its permission.
