Chandigarh, February 15, 2024: Amid the ongoing farmers agitation, Haryana government told Punjab and Haryana High Court in its status report that obstacles were erected on the road keeping in view the law and order situation during the previous farmer's agitation.
This comes a day after High Court questioned Haryana govt's action against protesting farmers. Meanwhile, Punjab government submitted that no obstruction was given from the state to the farmers and the state has been providing medical treatment to the injured farmers.
The court verbally observed that if the protest was peaceful, then use of force against them is not correct. Counsel for the Union of India apprised the court that a meeting between Union Ministers and farmer leaders is scheduled for today.
The court directed all the parties to file a fresh status report after today's meeting and adjourned that matter for Feb 19,2024.
