Jalandhar has 615 beds for Level-2 patients and 85 beds for Level-3 : DC
Jalandhar, July 24, 2020: Amidst spike in Covid cases in Jalandhar, the district administration has fully geared up to tackle any exigency by ensuring the availability of requisite medical infrastructure with 615 beds for the treatment of level-2 patients and 85-beds for level-3 patients besides added 43 ventilators in the Jalandhar.
Presiding over a meeting with the officials in the district administrative complex, The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the district administration has 402 beds for level-2 patients in the government health facilities including 312 beds in civil hospital, 90 in CHCs besides 28 beds and 10 ventilators for level-3 in Civil Hospital. He said that the facility of piped oxygen supply has also been ensured in these facilities.
Thori said that PIMS which has started treatment to Covid patients has offered 110 beds for level-2 and 10-beds for level-3 patients, New Ruby, Mann Medicity, Gulab Devi and Joshi Hospitals had also offered 22 beds for level-2 and Eight beds for level-3 patients in Gulab Devi Hospital, six beds for level-2 by NHS Hosptial, two beds for level-2 patients in Kidney Hospital, six beds for level-2 in Armaan Hospital, 10 beds for level-2 in Rattan Hospital, Eight beds for level-3 offered by Sacred Hearts Hospital, Four beds for level-2 and level-3 by Shrimann Hospital respectively, 10 beds for level-2 and four beds for level-3 by Joshi Hospital, Four beds for level-2 and five beds for level-3 by Sarvodya Hospital, three beds for level-2 and level-3 by Capitol Hospital respectively.
Likewise, the Patel hospital has offered 11 beds for level-2 patients and five for level-3 patients and 25 beds for level-2 and 10 beds for level-3 have been by IMA in Shahkot, he added.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the step was aimed to tackle the increasing number of COVID-19 far more efficaciously and provide the best possible care to the COVID-19 patients.
He said that the major focus was to take care of old and vulnerable population with co-morbidities that was at high risk of developing severe illness and appealed the people to don’t take the flu like symptoms lightly and contact the doctors soon.
He said that the people should not get panicky as more cases were reported in the city due to aggressive testing.
