Ludhiana, January 7, 2015: The district administration is all set to host NRI Sangat Darshan in the city on January 17. This NRI Sangat Darshan would host NRI's from districts Ludhiana, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawa Shehar), Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Ropar and Ajitgarh (Mohali). The NRI Sangat Darshan programmes are being organised by the Punjab government for connecting with the Punjabi Diaspora settled abroad and redressing their grievances. While holding a review meeting of the NRI Sangat Darshan, Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajat Agarwal said the main aim of this Sangat Darshan is to make direct interface with the NRI's to solve their problems on the spot in the presence of the government top brass. In order to ensure on the spot solution of the problems faced by these NRI's, the top brass of police and civil administration from these districts will be deployed at the venue of this function, which is Whistling Woods Resort on Ferozepur Road. The Deputy Commissioner informed that a district wise helpdesk would be set up at the venue along with an exhibition showcasing the ongoing development works going on in various government departments. He informed that any NRI having any grievance from eight districts can simply come to the venue, get himself/herself registered and get it redressed in the presence of Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and other senior bureaucrats and officials. The DC said that record of all the complaints will be maintained in a computerised manner so that it can be followed up properly in future also. He also said that if any NRI from the above mentioned districts is having any grievance, he needs to bring complete regard of his case and get himself registered at the venue on January 17. ADC Khanna Mr Ajay Sood has been deputed Nodal Officer for holding NRI Sangat Darshan at Ludhiana, whereas General Assistant to DC, Ms Kanu Thind is supervising the work. The officers present in the meeting included ADC Ms Neeru Katyal, SDM Ms Shena Aggarwal, SP (H) Ludhiana Rural Mr Bahadur Singh besides heads of all government departments of district administration.
