Chandigarh, March 11, 2026:The Punjab Government introduced a resolution criticising the Government of India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the alleged LPG crisis, with state minister Lal Chand Kataruchak attributing the situation to the Centre’s foreign policy and global geopolitical tensions affecting oil and gas supplies.
Kataruchak said there is widespread discussion across society regarding the availability of gas and oil products, noting that several countries involved in ongoing wars are among the world’s major producers of these resources.
Earlier Kataruchak said that the government has instructed officials to strictly monitor the market to prevent hoarding or black marketing of LPG cylinders.
“If anyone in Punjab is found involved in black marketing, the Food and Civil Supplies Department will take strict action,” he warned.
Meanwhile, Harjot Singh Bains alleged that the Government of India is ensuring full energy supply to the fertiliser plant in Panipat, while fertiliser plants in Nangal and Bathinda are not receiving adequate energy support.
