Railways renumber and reclassify several trains to improve operations
Ferozepur, February 11, 2026: To streamline and improve rail operations, the Railways has announced changes in the train numbers and categories of several services. As per the official notification, the existing Superfast trains will be reclassified as Mail/Express trains and assigned new numbers starting mid-April 2026.
According to the details, Train No. 12327 (Howrah–Dehradun) will be renumbered as 13035 effective April 14, 2026, while 12328 (Dehradun–Howrah) will become 13036 from April 15, 2026. Similarly, 12369/12370 (Howrah–Dehradun–Howrah) will be renumbered as 13037/13038 from April 13 and 14, 2026, respectively.
Train No. 12331/12332 (Howrah–Jammu Tawi–Howrah) will be changed to 13041/13042 from April 14 and 16, 2026. The 12333/12334 (Howrah–Prayagraj Rambag–Howrah) will be renumbered as 13047/13048 from April 13 and 14, 2026. Additionally, 12311/12312 (Howrah–Kalka–Howrah) will become 13051/13052 from April 13 and 15, 2026. Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay issued the announcement.
