Singhu Border (Delhi), January 14, 2021: The IT wing of the farmers union has been able to achieve big heights on the social media platforms and also made its reach up to a large extent.
The IT wing of the farmers is led by a 30-year-old Gurdaspur resident, Baljit Singh, who started it on December 16, with an idea to spread real information globally about the ongoing Kisan morcha.
Baljit Singh along with his team of 10 persons, created official accounts on all the social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat on the name 'Kisan Ekta Morcha' where several posts have been uploaded so far regarding the massive agitation. Not only this, a total of around 23 lakh subscribers have been witnessed on the social media platforms of Kisan Ekta Morcha to date and still counting.
Baljit Singh said he created the digital platform after an idea stroke in his mind that it was necessary to confront the IT cell of BJP as well as some media channels, which were representing a fake image of the agitation.
"It was a big challenge in front of us to counter the fake propaganda of various channels. We thought that the farmers can also be digitalized following which we launched this after discussing with the farmers' union leaders. Secondly, there was no uniform platform for the United Farmers Front. It was not an easy task, as we needed huge manpower plus several types of equipment. But all our team members worked hard and were able to make it a big platform today. Initially, our target was to reach 1 crore within a week. But we achieved the same in just four days and after that, we got a huge response from the people sitting worldwide. Our agenda was to expose the fake propaganda which was being spread to defame the farmers, " said Baljit.
Baljit added that they were able to explain to the people about the three farm laws through this channel. He said their motive is to sort out the huge number of queries of the people.
He added, "The Twitter account of Kisan Ekta Morcha having 1 lakh 38 thousand followers, is hitting everywhere now as we are beating the campaigns of BJP trending wise.
The recent hashtags like '#BurnFarmLawsonLohri', '#FarmersRejectSCCommittee' etc have made them in the top 10 trending hashtags on Twitter and also beaten the BJP IT cell's hashtags like '#FasalBima4SafalKisan'. Also, we set a new record through our Punjabi hashtag '#ਜਾਂ_ਮਰਾਂਗੇ_ਜਾਂ_ਜਿੱਤਾਂਗੇ' (either we will die or we will win) as it became number 1 trending."
He also said that their next target is that the voice of farmers' unions will reach globally and they will keep exposing the fake propaganda of the government. "I am here from the day one of Kisan morcha and will stay till the agitation goes on. We have zero income through these channels but we have no boundaries unlike any media channel, Baljit said.
Talking about his family and educational background Baljit Singh said, "I am a farmer and my whole family is into farming. I studied Information Computer Technology course of 2.5 years from Gurdaspur."
