Shocking Tragedy: Truck’s CNG cylinder explodes, driver burned alive

Ludhiana (Punjab), November 22, 2025: A horrifying accident took place late Friday night in Ludhiana, Punjab. A truck travelling on Ferozepur Road caught massive fire after its CNG cylinder exploded, leaving the driver trapped inside the cabin where he was burned alive. The incident occurred when the truck collided with a flyover pillar. Police reached the spot, took custody of the body, and have begun an investigation.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as extremely terrifying. After the collision, the truck immediately turned into a fireball. The driver, trapped inside, was waving his hand out of the window and calling for help, but the flames were so intense that no one could go near the vehicle. By the time the fire brigade managed to control the blaze, the driver had tragically died inside the cabin.
According to Fire Officer Rajinder Kumar, the department received the call around 11:30 PM. The truck was carrying parcels of medicines, which caused the fire to intensify rapidly. The smoke and flames were so strong that the rescue team struggled to enter the cabin. The driver remained trapped inside for nearly half an hour.
The deceased driver has been identified as Bhushan, who was driving a truck belonging to Malwa Transport. He had loaded goods from Transport Nagar and was on his way to deliver them. Investigating officer Meva Singh said that while driving from Bhaiwala Chowk toward Nanaksar Gurdwara Sahib, the truck lost balance and rammed into a pillar near the main board. The impact hit the CNG cylinder directly, causing it to explode and resulting in the tragic accident.
