Dhindsa
Victory, a befitting reply to critics who lost their face SAD-BJP will again form govt in 2017 Chandigarh, February 16, 2016: Shiromani Akali Dal Secretary General and member Rajya Sabha Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa today said the phenomenal victory achieved by party candidate Mr. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura in the Khadoor Sahib assembly by-election with a whopping margin of 65,664 votes spoke volumes about the development oriented performance of the SAD-BJP government besides complete rejection of the propaganda launched against it by the opposition. In a statement issued here today, Mr. Dhindsa said this victory assumes significance as it has put a stamp of approval once again on pro-people policies of the State government which is whole heartedly engaged in working for welfare of all sections of society. He categorically said the SAD-BJP coalition would again trounce the twice rejected Congress as well as novice outfit AAP in the general assembly elections in 2017. Strongly castigating the Congress and AAP, senior SAD leader said both were indulging in leveling false and baseless allegations on the state government but when the actual time came to seek a mandate from the people they ran away from the electoral arena. Taking further dig at them, Mr Dhindsa said both Congress and AAP had shown a cowardly attitude by not contesting this bye-poll thereby causing harm to the democratic culture of the country. He further said that the people of Khadoor Sahib had given a befitting reply to such divisive forces. Taking the attack to the opposition, Mr Dhindsa said voting percentage of 60% on the day of Sangrand proved that people had rejected AAP and Congress as well as their poll boycott calls. He also informed that the vicious propaganda that panthic vote and rural Sikh vote had left SAD was also proven wrong because in previous election SAD got approximately 63,000 votes but this time SAD got approximately 83,000 votes. So, 20000 (30%) voters, who voted for Congress last time, have turned towards SAD in this election. "This is a positive vote in favour of party which proves that anti-incumbency against government is only stirring on social media and political speeches of opposition whereas on ground there is a positive incumbency in favour of SAD," Mr Dhindsa asserted. Terming this victory as a unique one, he said this win marks defeat of sinister and divisive agenda and virulent propaganda launched by opposition parties against present government. Attacking the opposition, SAD MP said now it should sit back and carefully introspect on their negative agenda. Sounding a warning note, Dhindsa said state government would not let hard earned peace of state to be fiddled with. He reiterated commitment of SAD-BJP government to continue working for rapid development of Punjab so as to make it attain 'numero uno' status in terms of economic, social and cultural spheres.
