Fatehgarh Sahib. April.13, 2020: The district police led by Amneet Kondal SSP in association with Bharat Vikas Parishad Sirhind, distributed approximately 2000 packets of Sanitary napkins along with soap and masks in Brahman Majra and adjoining slum area of Sirhind town today. Ladies section of Chandigarh Golf Course, Punjab IPS Officer’s Wives Association (PIPSOWA) also donated napkins.
SSP said that in wake of COVID-19 the police in collaboration with NGO have initiated the drive to provide napkins, soaps and masks to the rural, slum dwellers and needy women in the district. She said that they have identified particularly slum pockets and will visit the area to hand over the material.
On this occasion some of the doctor lady members of NGO delivered a health talk on female health & hygiene maintenance and how to use sanitary napkins and precautions from Coronavirus. They were urged to maintain social distancing and to remain inside the homes.
SSP said that district police is already serving the people not only in maintaining the curfew restrictions but also providing essential services, distributing ration and langer by putting their own life in risk. So the people should co-operate the police by obeying all the orders of the government.
