April.13, 2020: On the directions of District civil and police administration the district health department has launched a special drive for the screening of the students staying in hostels of all the institutions in the district. Dr. N.K.Aggarwal, Civil Surgeon said that initiating the drive the health department has screened 134 hostel students of RIMT University Mandi Gobindgarh and 41 employees. Similarly at Desh Bhagat University Mandi Gobindgarh 30 hostel students and 95 employees were screened. He said all were found asymptomatic.
He said that besides this today 10 new samples of close contacts of two positive Jamaati women are taken at Khamano. He said as of now total 43 samples of close contacts of positive women have been taken and 33 are tested negative and all close contact are home quarantined till 17th April.
Civil Surgeon said that luckily no new fresh case has been reported in the district for the last one week. There are only two positive cases in the district and both are Jamaati women activists belonging to Aurangabad and they have been admitted in Gian Sagar Hospital Banur.
He said that 848 NRIs came to district and all have been traced and out of these 848 have passed 14 days home quarantine limit, there is no case of home quarantine. He said all 59 visitors who came from Hazur Sahib and 154 who attended Holla Mohalla are still under home quarantine. He said that 32 Jamaatis came to district and two of them were found positive. He said that as of now 43 samples of close contact of these two positive were taken and 33 were tested negative and result of rest is awaited.
