Amid Corona-Curfew, 96,734 disabled, widows, old age persons get pension in Moga
Moga, April 16, 2020: In times of the coronavirus spread, the Punjab government is reaching out to its poor and needy keeping social distancing as priority. The work on the distribution of pensions to needy is going on.
Deputy Commissioner Moga Mr Sandeep Hans said that through 67 business correspondents, 96734 old age, widow, disabled and dependent pensioners are being distributed Rs 7.25 cr worth pension for the month of March nearer their homes.
All the business correspondents either give pension at the door step of pensioner or make a common point in area ensuring social distance.
He added that 24640 general category and 43491 schedule caste pensioners are being given pensions. Also there are 6840 widow pensioners from general category and 9130 from scheduled caste category. Besides this there are 1898 disabled pensioners from general category and 2718 pensioners from scheduled caste categories. Also pensions are being given to 3552 dependants from genre category and 4465 dependants from scheduled caste category.
