Fatehgarh Sahib. April.18, 2020: Fatehgarh Sahib police has registered a case u/s 188 IPC against Dr. Deepak Jot owner of Deepak Scanner and diagnosis Sirhind and two of his employees Jagdeep Singh and Jagdev Singh allegedly for violating social distancing norms essential in wake of COVID-19 threat.
Amneet Kondal SSP said that during patrolling G.S.Sikand SHO Fatehgarh Sahib noticed a large number of cars were standing outside Deepak Scanner and he went inside and found approximately 20 persons were sitting near reception counter violating social distancing. SSP said that the doctor had already been warned by DSP Fatehgarh Sahib and SHO to maintain social distancing, but he ignored the directions necessary in wake of COVID-19 threat.
On the other hand IMA doctors protest the registration of case, they said on the one hand CM and government is issuing warnings to open the OPD and diagnosis centers on the other hand they are being booked. Dr. Deepak said that all the diagnosis centers even in adjoining districts Ludhiana and Ropar are closed taking social responsibility he has decided to open the center. He said today a very emergency case of 9 month pregnancy needed immediate scan to save her life. He said as he was scanning her two of her relatives enter the center by disobeying the guards he has deputed. He said he can maintain social distancing in his clinic and not on road moreover there are four other commercial offices including bank and all were not his customers. He said he will also think to close the center and let the patients suffer.
