Cleanliness drive launched on war footing in Sri Chamkaur Sahib

Sri Chamkaur Sahib: Cleanliness and sanitation drive has been launched on war footing in Sri Chamkaur Sahib. The drive would include 15 days of extensive activities involving cleaning of roads, sewers, drains, removal of debris from vacant pockets of land, cleaning and sanitizing doors of houses with 1% sodium hypochlorite solution, beautification of parks, etc
On this occasion Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi along with officers including SDM and Administrator of Nagar Panchayat Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Mankanwal Singh Chahal PCS and EO Rajnish Sood started the exercise by educating the sanitation staff about safety measures and also distributing safety gear like mask and gloves.
SDM Mankanwal said “We aim to boost the morale of sanitation workers”
Cabinet Minister Channi appealed to the residents of Sri Chamkaur Sahib to participate in this 15 day exercise by cleaning their houses and roofs while maintaining social distancing and curfew ethics.
This comes on a day where 4 villages of this area which were sealed due to positive cases being found in the adjoining village of Maneli, were extensively screened with house to house survey and have completed 14 day quarantine period without occurrence of any positive case of COVID-19 (@APS
