Rana Sodhi calls up Corona +ve police warrior, wishes him speedy recovery
Ferozepur, April 21, 2020: Cabinet Minister, Punjab Rana Sodhi, today enquired about the health of corona positive patient under treatment at Isolation Ward in Civil Hospital Ferozepur by calling on Whatsapp video call. It was such a relief to know that he is getting better with time, said Sodhi.
He also wished him a speedy recovery besides assuring him of full support from the government. Rana Sodhi however, appealed to the people ‘Stay indoors, help us to win Covid-19”.
A motivational video of Parmjot Singh doing physical exercises in his isolation room in Civil Hospital was also viral on social media. He is seen in high spirits to win over the Corona with his will power.
During his interaction with the under treatment police official, the minister inquired about his well-being and assured him of fulsome support. Sodhi expressed satisfaction over the treatment being provided to the patient besides wishing speedy recovery to him. The minister asked Paramjot Singh not to hesitate to call him in hour of distress.
The minister asked the cop about his routine, his satisfaction with the treatment and meals being provided in the isolation ward. He further extended his full support to the patient and asked him not to hesitate to call him in the hour of distress.
Responding to the minister's query, the patient apprised him that he is receiving the best of the treatment in the hospital as experts are examining him regularly. He also informed the Minister that he is getting nutritious food thrice and other necessary daily needs. He told the minister that there were no symptoms of COVID-19 in him and he is fit & fine besides explaining his daily exercise routine. He also exhibited some exercises moves to the Minister.
Rana Sodhi also asked the doctors to ensure best possible treatment to the COVID-19 patient. The minister said that it was a matter of relief for the people of Ferozepur that all the 34 primary contacts of COVID-19 positive cop were tested negative yesterday, which averted the danger of community transmission.
Added here, Parmjot Singh – was posted at Ludhiana as gunman with ACP Anil Kohli - who unfortunately died fighting with the novel Covid-19 virus. His sampling was done at Ludhiana but he shifted to Ferozepur against the protocol and instructions. On declaring him as positive in lab tests, his native village Wada Bhai ka was sealed by making it containment zone. and he was quarantined in Civil Hospital Ferozepur. Primary, high risk contact tracing was done and 34 samples were taken which include the close relative of 27-year-old youth – father 57, mother 50, wife 26 and child of one-two year. All the samples have been tested negative so far. However, the re-testing of Parmjot Singh will be done after he completes the quarantine period.
