April.21, 2020: It is a matter of great relief for the residents of the district that one Jammati women out of the two found positive in the district has defeated COVID-19 and discharged today from Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur as she was tested negative twice, whereas the second Jamaati women whose first test was also negative but her second confirmation test was reported as inconclusive, so she will be re-tested tomorrow, said Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib. He said that the discharged Jamaati woman has been further home quarantined in Masjid for 14 days. He said if the result of second Jamaati women also comes negative, there will be no case of COVID in the district as fortunately no new positive case have been reported in the district from the last two weeks. He said that in the district 103 Corona suspects out of 114 were tested negative, whereas the results of 11is awaited.
It is worth mentioning that the two Jamaati women who belong to Aurangabad came to the district along with 30 other Jamaatis were found positive and were admitted in Gian Sagar hospital Banur. Now one of them has been discharged and the second is in good condition. He said that as of now 43 samples of close contact of these two positive were taken and all were tested negative. He said that 848 NRIs came to the district and all have been traced and out of these 848 have passed 14 days home quarantine limit, there is no case of home quarantine.
He called upon the people to help the government in war against COVID-19 by obeying the instructions and remaining inside by maintaining social distancing as it is the only mean to defeat COVID.
