Fruit and vegetable vendors, ration delivery persons, milkman, newspaper hawkers and media personnel to be screened
SAS Nagar, April 22, 2020: Keeping in view the health and well-being of the general public and the persons providing essential services, all deployed in delivery of essentials during the curfew imposed to contain the spread of corona virus, are to screened for COVID-19, ordered Girish Dayalan Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar.
This includes people involved in delivering daily necessities such as fruit and vegetable vendors, ration delivery persons, milkman, newspaper hawkers and even the media personnel.
The Assistant Excise and Taxation officer is to be responsible for organizing the health check-up / screening of the persons involved in the work related to large retail chains such as Zomato, Swiggy ,Amazon, Flipcart, MARKFED etc. Similarly District Mandi Officer would ensure the same for Vegetable and Fruit sellers.
Besides District Public Relations Officer is to co-ordinate the check-up of news reporters and newspaper hawkers while District Development and Panchayat Officer and Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, would do the same for Milk suppliers.
The District Food and Supply Officer will ensure health check-up of the ration distributors.
In this regard the Civil Surgeon would set up screening teams which would coordinate with the concerned officers to conduct medical screening, rotation wise.
An Infrared Thermal scanner can be used for this medical screening.
If any symptoms related to the disease are found in a person during the screening, treatment will be started as per the medical protocol and instructions issued by the government.
