April.22, 2020: The district Fatehgarh Sahib at present got the tag to become COVID free as booth the Jammati women, who were found positive in the district, have defeated COVID-19 and have been discharged from Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur as both of them were tested negative twice.
Earlier one Jamaati women was tested negative twice and discharged, whereas the other was tested negative in first test but her second confirmation test was reported as inconclusive, so her test was again conducted yesterday and result was reported negative today, said Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib. He said luckily no case has been reported positive in the district for the last two weeks.
He said that the discharged Jamaati women have been further home quarantined in Masjid for 14 days. He said that the six close contact of Rajpura COVID positive were identified and home quarantined. He said that samples of 53 COVID suspects are taken and sent for testing their results are awaited.
It is worth mentioning that the two Jamaati women who belong to Aurangabad came to the district along with 30 other Jamaatis were found positive and were admitted in Gian Sagar hospital Banur. Now both of them have been discharged.
He called upon the people to help the government in war against COVID-19 by obeying the instructions and remaining inside by maintaining social distancing as it is the only mean to defeat COVID.
