Nawanshahr , April 23, 2020 : Member of Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Manish Tewari has been taking up the issue of people stuck in other states of the country due to the lock down in the wake of Corona epidemic with the concerned state governments including Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. Tewari is confident that they will be repatriated as soon as possible.
MP Tewari said that he had received information from MLA Darshan Lal Mangupur from Balachaur that many people from his constituency were stranded in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Gujarat. Similarly, Love Kumar Goldy, a former MLA from Garhshankar, said that people from other areas, including Saila Khurd village in his constituency, were stranded in different parts of the country due to the lock down . However, many other people's representatives and party workers are giving the same information from the people of the area.
He said that this matter was very serious and he was taking it up with the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Chief Ministers of the concerned states and the Union Government to ensure that the people who were stranded in different parts of the country could be brought back to their homes as soon as possible.
