Fatehgarh Sahib. April.24, 2020 - Guardians of Governance (GoG) are playing an important role in the war against Covid-19 and also supporting the district administration in wheat procurement in a dedicated manner all over the State, said Lt: Gen. TS Shergill , Senior Vice Chairman GoG and Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Punjab while presiding over the meeting of the district officials and GoGs of the district here today called to assess the situation in wake of Covid 19 threat and wheat procurement.
He said that GoGs are doing a great service in rural areas as they are fully vigilant and ensure that farmers may not face any problem regarding the harvesting and the procurement. If there is any difficulty, they immediately bring it to the notice of the government and district administration to get it resolved.
He OGs that Covid-19 is a challenge for all of us and we have to overcome it with a determination and they should continue the campaign to create awareness among rural masses about COVID protections like social distancing and keep at home. He said that online system has been further updated and made more secure and now GoGs can send their ground reports in more effective manner directly to respective SDM’s, DC and also to control centre where the data is collated and reviewed by the Chief Minister.
Amrit Kaur Gill, Deputy Commissioner briefed that two Jamaati women who came from Aurangabad were tested positive in the district, but after the treatment they were cured and had been discharged. At present there was no corona positive case in the district. She said the procurement process is going on smoothly and record wheat has been procured.
SSP Amneet Kondal informed about the actions taken against the curfew violators and fake news. Col. Amarjit Singh, GoG Head of Fatehgarh Sahib, informed about the work being done by the GoGs in the district. Jaspreet Singh ADC, Jaspreet Singh AC (G), Karnveer Singh OSD to Lt. Gen. TS Shergill, DFSC Ravinder Kaur were also present.
