Nawanshahr, April 25,2020: A fresh case of COVID-19 has been reported in village Boothgarh of Balachaur Sub Division in Shaheed Bhagat Singh District. Being a Truck Driver, he has a travel history of J & K and on his return back late night of April 22, villagers informed the administration about him and asked him to keep himself quarantine.
Divulging details, ADC (G) Aditya Uppal who visited the village along with Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Bhatia and SDM Balachaur Jasbir Singh, said that as per the lead got from the villagers, health team immediately sprung into action and examined the symptoms of COVID and Flu. Finding him symptomatic with COVID and Flu symptoms, Rapid Response Team referred his case for immediate sampeling and with in no time sampling was done. Today on testing him positive, health department and adminsitration immediately swung into action and transferred him to Isolation ward of District Hospital Nawanshahr with his two closed contacts (his colleagues of same village), where sampling of other two was also being conducted.
COVID Positive youth used to live with his parents has also been put in quarnatine after taking samples.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Parshad Bhatia told that the village had been brought under ‘Containment Plan’ for extensive survey of the villagers to ascertain all the suspected cases, if any. All the villagers have been put under observation and on developing any symptom of COVID, immediately be tested.
Residents have been asked to maintain proper distance, use masks, remain in homes to avoid further conatgion, added Civil Surgeon.
