Jalandhar, April 26, 2020: Tightening noose on the violaters in its drive against the persons who were violating the cufew norms by not wearing the masks or by moving outside without any valid pass, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police today arrested 12 persons by filing 10 FIRs against such violators.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that in order to check the spread of Corona Virus in the state, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had already made it mandatory to wear masks before stepping out of their home in case of urgency with a valid pass.
However, he said that the Commissionerate Police today registered ten FIRs including one for not wearing mask and arrested 12 persons for flouting the curfew norms in the city.
The Commissioner of Police said that in total 200 traffic challans were issued today and 5 vehicles were impounded for violation of curfew norms.
He said that till date 399 FIRs were registered in Jalandhar for violation of curfew norms adding that 522 people were arrested for flouting of norms.
Bhullar said that 8896 traffic challans were issued in Jalandhar so far
