Bathinda, April 27, 2020: On the initiative of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, 152 students from Punjab, who were stranded in Rajasthan's education city Kota, returned to Punjab today. The administration of Punjab government at Doomwali border of Haryana received these students and after medical screening these were further departure to their respective district through PRTC buses.
Mr. B. Sri Niwasan, Deputy Commissioner of the district said that apart from the medical check-up of the students who came in the buses at the district boarder, breakfast was also provided to them. From here these students were sent to their districts in PRTC buses.
On the occasion the students thanked the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh for arranging transit for their return home by the Punjab government and providing PRTC buses from the inter-state border to their homes.
Among the students who returned to Punjab via Bathinda included 24 students of Bathinda, 1 from Barnala, 25 from Ludhiana, 2 from Hoshiarpur, 1 from Tarn Taran, 9 from Sri Amritsar Sahib, 13 from Gurdaspur, 16 from Pathankot, 2 from Faridkot and 6 from Ferozepur. 2 of Sri Muktsar Sahib, 14 of Fazilka, 1 of Moga, 10 of Jalandhar, 4 of Kapurthala, 5 of Mansa, 2 of Sangrur, 4 of Patiala, 3 of Fatehgarh Sahib, 2 of Rupnagar, 2 of Mohali and 4 of Chandigarh. Harpreet Kaur, a student of Talwandi Sabo, thanked the Punjab government, civil and police administration for arranging her return
On the occasion Tehsildar Mr. Sukhbir Singh Brar who was supervising the students arriving at the inter-state border without any difficulty, said that on this occasion breakfast was distributed to the students by the help of volunteers of Youth Welfare Society.
While 301 more pilgrims were also returned back from Takhat Sri Hazoor Sahib Nanded via buses since last night. Most of them belongs to Amritsar, Sangrur and Tarntarn District. While one more fleet of 13 buses with 467 passengers is also on the way from Nanded and will reach Punjab late night on Monday.
