Fatehgarh Sahib. April.28, 2020: Dr. Sanjeev Kumar SDM Fatehgarh Sahib, the NGOs today donated two water dispensers to Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon to be installed at OOAT Clinic and drug de-addiction center as a heavy rush is witnessed these days at both the places.
SDM said that being head of the COVID Control Committee during the meeting Civil Surgeon raised the issue that the patients who are admitted in isolation wards and in OOAT clinic and drug de-addiction center are facing acute shortage of drinking water as there is no arrangement for pure drinking water. SDM said that on humanitarian ground he promised to donate two water dispensers for the same. He said he managed to get two water dispensers with great difficulty amid lock down. He said now he has handed over these to DC and civil surgeon to be inalled.
It is worth mentioning that large number of COVID suspects are kept in isolation wards of the civil hospital and due to non supply of drugs due to curfew 1350 drug addicts have thronged OOAT clinic and de-addiction center for rehabilitation. The government have increased the working hours of OOAT clinics and drug de-addiction centers from 8AM to 5 PM and has also set up special counters for registration, so long queues are witnessed by maintain social distancing.
The supreme donation by the SDM is widely appreciated by all and it has become a source of inspiration for the other NGOs also as they have approached the SDM for any further donation. SDM also played a key role and led from front in providing ration, cooked food and essential commodities to the needy. He was also instrumental in launching a movement to honour the front line COVID warriors like Police, sanitation and health department.
