Mohali, April 29, 2020: Shri Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari today took stock of the situation in the constituency on account of the lockdown. He held a videoconference which was organized by the Secretary Punjab Youth Congress, Manjot Singh and participated over by the PYC president Barinder Dhillon, Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan, PYC general secretary Udaybir Singh Dhillon and the representatives from the education, medical, real estates, hospitality and IT sectors.
During this period, representatives of the education sector said that the lockdown had a major impact on the examinations. Apart from this, issue of new admissions was also raised.
The medical field representative raised the issue of doctors and other staff staying on duty, the need for appropriate PPE kits and masks to fight the corona infection.
The problem of raw material and labor regarding real estate was raised prominently. Besides, it was revealed in the meeting that the labor from other states wanted to back go to their homes.
The representatives associated with the hospitality industry demanded a concession in taxes and a policy for industrial promotion in view of the impact on the tourism sector.
Whereas the industry dealt with the impact on exports as well as issues like Labor, Raw material.
Similarly, the IT field representatives also made their suggestions.
Reacting to the suggestions and complaints, Tewari said that from May 3, the government is considering giving relief in lockdown on different areas.
He asked the representatives to send their suggestions and problems in writing, so that after considering them, the government can take a decision. However, it will take some time to recover from the situation and during this time all of us will have to strictly follow the social distancing and other instructions so that Corona can be defeated, he said.
