Ferozepur comes under Orange Zone with one Covid tested positive, no relaxation in curfew so far
Ferozepur, April 30, 2020: One person, around 40 years, among the devotees reached Ferozepur from Hazoor Sahib has been tested positive. With this, Ferozepur has come in Orange Zone and so far there is no relaxation in curfew so far.
Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur Kulwant Singh confirming one positive case in Ferozepur said, there is no relaxation in curfew in Ferozepur so far. We will be having a meeting with the local representatives of various organizations to take a decision for further course of action.
Meanwhile, he appealed to the people to stay home and following the curfew instructions which are the only way to fight with the coronavirus threat.
Districts are classified as red, orange, and green zones on the basis of the incidence of Covid-19 cases. The ministry has classified a district as a red zone if it reported more than 15 cases. A district that has not reported a single case in the last 14 days is an orange zone district. A green zone district is one that has not reported any case over 28 days.
In the Media Bulletin Covid-19 released today, one new case has been reported positive and the source of infection indicated is likely to be from outside Punjab.
The patient has been shifted to the Civil Hospital for further treatment.
In fact, Ferozepur had been no positive case. Only one case was earlier reported of Parmjot Singh gunman ACP Kohli at Ludhiana, was sampled there and later on tested positive. He was, however, was released on April 29 being tested negative twice, after keeping him in Isolation Ward in Civil Hospital, as per the medical protocol.
The district administration on orders from the government has started shifting stranded persons from out of Punjab – Hazoor Sahib, Naned Sahib, Jaisalmer and Kota in Rajasthan – and quarantined for 14 days as per the medical protocol. All such persons will be subject to sample testing for Coronavirus. Necessary arrangements of containment zones have been made at three places in the district. 86 devotees from Hazoor Sahib have been quarantined at SBS Engineering College campus and their samples have been sent to the lab for testing. Similarly, 60 at the second place Navodiya Vidayalaya Mahian Wala and 24 at the third place a Lakhmir Pure, have been quarantined. The sampling process is on and the outcome will be known only on receipt of results.
In Punjab, the update of suspected cases reported as of today is 21,205, 480 tested positive, 17286 tested negative, 3439 results awaited, 104 patients cured, 356 active cases, one on oxygen support and 20 deaths. However, so far the patient is critical and on ventilator support.
