Ferozepur: 82 Covid samples test negative, one coronavirus victim cremated under medical supervision
Ferozepur, May 3, 2020: All the 82 samples sent for testing of people under quarantine reached Ferozepur from other states, have been tested negative. However, one devotee-woman, who had come back from Nanded Sahib has been reported as positive of village Hamad Wala.
So far, there are 28 confirmed positive cases of corona in Ferozepur out of which 26 active positive including one of today, one of Ludhiana in contact with ACP has been discharged on recovery after keeping him in quarantine at Civil Hospital, and one have died – one of village Ali Ke.
However, one death was reported of Ali Ke of Ashok Kumar, 40-year-old, who was under treatment at Medical College Faridkot and later on sampling detected as corona positive - whose cremation was performed by the district administration as per the medical protocol of the government, by team constituted by the Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh of SDM Amit Gupta, Naib Tehsildar Sukhcharan Singh Channi along with revenue and health department officials, by wearing the PPE Kits. Ashok Behal, Secretary Red Cross was also present. Amit Gupta SDM said, this is the first corona positive death in Ferozepur.
DC informed that out of the samples sent for lab testing in the last two days, the report of 82 has come negative. Of these, 42 reports came negative on Saturday while 40 reports came negative on Sunday.
He informed that some areas of the precautionary district have been declared containment zones by the administration, where all kinds of activities will be prohibited. Duties of officers have been imposed and nodal officers have been deployed to provide necessary goods to the people in these areas. Apart from village Ali K, villages Kamalgarh, Shah Wala Road, Mohalla Chah Beriyan, Friend Enclave and Dharmakot Jira have been declared as containment zones. He said that people in these areas will not be allowed to face any shortage of essential items.
