464 people make move towards Lakhanpur in J&K
Thorough medical screening process followed
S. A. S. Nagar, May 04, 2020: The drive to send back the stranded people from other states, began today. A total of 464 people were sent back from Mohali, Kharar and Derabassi to Lakhanpur in J&K.This was disclosed here today by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Mr. Sukhwinder Kumar.
Divulging more, he said that as per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan, foolproof arrangements for the medical screening of the stranded people were made at Nayagaon before they boarded the buses back to their states.
Disclosing the details, he said that from Mohali, under the supervision of the SDM Mr. Jagdeep Saigal, a total of 179 people were sent back in 8 buses. While from Derabassi, under the supervision of the SDM Mr. Kuldeep Bawa, a total of 93 people were sent back via 3 buses. As far as Kharar is concerned, a total of 192 people boarded the 7 buses.
He further added that while carrying out the process of medical screening before sending the migrants back, all due precautions with regard to the observance of the social distancing guidelines were duly followed.
