Fatehgarh Sahib. May 05, 2020: Though the district police is engaged in serving the needy with dry ration, cooked food and celebrating the birthdays as goodwill gesture, but at the same time is strictly implementing the curfew in the district. The violators are dealt strictly and till today the district police has registered 311 cases and arrested 502 persons and impounded 172 vehicles for violating curfew norms, besides this 9 cases have been registered against rumour mongers and one case for attack on police party said Amneet Kondal SSP.
She said that police is doing its duty sincerely as front line COVID warriors and the people in different towns and villages have showered love and honoured the police personnel for doing their duty round the clock with utmost dedication in wake of the COVID threat. She said police are guarding the nakas round the clock just to save the people from this dreaded disease without caring their own lives, so the people must co-operate with the police and obey all the directions issued by the district administration. She urged the people to stay home stay safe and to maintain social distancing at any cost.
Meanwhile on the opening day of all type of shops in Sirhind heavy rush was witnessed and Fatehgarh Sahib police led by G.S.Sikand SHO had a tough time in controlling the rush. He himself was checking the vehicles at Sirhind town strictly and he impounded 33 vehicles for violating the curfew norms. He was seen educating the people to maintain social distancing as it is a very dreaded disease having no medicine and to stay home is the only medicine.
