"The enthusiastic participation of students in the " On Line Test" is clear indication of the success of the relentless dedicated efforts being put in by the government school teachers in providing education facility through virtual classes during the lock down period. The dedication, zeal and the commitment of the teachers towards their profession could be gauged from the fact that the government has already announced summer vacation in advance from April 11 to May 10 due to Lock Down" , said Krishan Kumar , Education Seretary, while adding that the "On Line Tests" in the subjects of English, Math and Social Studies had also been designed and would be taken one by one shortly.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the Education Department , in the wake of the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19, has launched " Ghar Baithe Shikihiya" ( On LIne Education ) , a first of kind venture to brave the unprecedented challenge. The team of dedicated teachers, in the endeavor, designed audio-video clips and PDF files of the lessons of different subjects according to the prescribed syllabus of different classes . The process of taking "virtual classes" through various social media tools including google drive, u-tube, Whats App groups, radio and TV channels.
While the Education Department has been venturing new innovations to reach out to the students to keep them aware about the precautions to thwart the COVID-19 as well as to curb the apprehension of complacency among the students during lock down, doubts on its efficacy from some quarters are being raised on the pretext that as most of the students of government schools
belong to underprivileged sections of the society, hence in the absence of the facility of smart phones, the virtual classes under " Ghar Baithe Shikhiya" programme could not be termed conducive for them.
But, the encouraging response from the students has proved such apprehensions wrong vehemently, thus, rewarding the dedication of the teachers in a noble way.
