Jalandhar, May 07, 2020: To help the 246 people including the pilgrims from Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Kota students and others quarantined in Meritorious School, Jalandhar in fighting the depression, the teams of counsellors have been boosting their psychological morale in this hour of distress.
Divulging the details, The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said the counselling was started to ensure that the pilgrims and other people, quarantined remain stress free and motivated all the time during their stay.
A team of comprising Senior Medical Officer Dr. Raman Kumar, Dr. Jagdish Kumar along with counsellors was set up and deputed permanently in the school to hold the counseling session regularly for the quarantined people.
Deputy Commissioner said that the counselling process was very much sensitive to ensure that anyone do not suffer mental agony. He said that the counselling helped to keep the persons positive and in high morale and this was necessary for boosting psychological morale of the people including pilgrims, students, labourers in this time.
Meanwhile, Mr Sharma told that the district administration was duty bound to ensure comfortable stay for these people. They said that already a robust mechanism was evolved for making necessary arrangements for food, boarding and lodging for these people.
He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was committed to the welfare of the people in the state and no stone was being left unturned for serving the people of the district in these prevailing conditions.
