STATE GOVERNMENT BEARS EXPENDITURE WORTH RS. 05.76 LAKH FOR FREE TRAVEL OF MIGRANTS THROUGH THIS TRAIN

Fatehgarh Sahib, 09 May 2020: Owing to the strenuous efforts of the state government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh the 'Shramik Express' train with 1320 migrants onboard chugged off from Sirhind station to Gorakhpur, U.P. The Punjab government is bearing the entire expenses of this train which is around Rs. 05.76 lakh. Stating this Amrit Kaur Gill, Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib said that as per the set procedure the migrants have boarded this train after the completion of registration and the medical screening.
Amrit Kaur Gill said that it was ensured that the migrants would not face any kind of difficulty. Besides providing them food all the essential facilities were provided to them.
During this Amneet Kondal, SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib said that all the security arrangements were made regarding the movement of migrants through this train and implementation of the precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 was ensured including the social distance.
