Ludhiana, May 10, 2020 : Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Pawan Dewan has written a letter to Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh demanding the opening of a small scale industry facing economic depression due to the lockdown due to Corona infection.
In a letter to CM, Dewan has said that he appeals on behalf of the owners of small scale industry who are facing trouble due to lockdown to open their factories. He said that many small industries provide raw materials to large industries and without opening them, even those industries will not be able to function properly.
In this order, usually mix-use land area industries are home to operators above and factories below. Lakhs of people earn their bread and butter from these industries. These industries, especially in Ludhiana, are the backbone of the world famous bicycle, hosiery and textile industries.
He said that industries are already facing recession due to the lockdown. In such a situation, they should be given necessary concessions to bring Punjab's development back on track, which may be due to electricity bills rebate or other methods. He hopes that by paying attention to this subject, he will bring relief to these small industries and millions of people working here.
