May.10, 2020: Panic prevailed in Sirhind town as eight new positive cases were reported today two of them were from Adarsh Nagar Sirhind, which had already been declared hot spot/ containment area by the District Magistrate as the Congress Councillor from the ward who came from UP was distributing langer in the area but he has been reported negative, whereas his combine worker has been tested positive, who also lives here.
Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib told that today eight new COVID positive cases were reported in the district and tally reaches 36. He said that a 13 year old Sagar Kumar resident of Khamano, who has travel history, Malkiat Singh 40 years old resident of village Khanpur combine worker, Jaswinder Singh 40 combine worker of Bibipur Khera, Gurjinder Singh 37 years combine worker of Bibipur Khera, Harjinder Singh 24 years combine worker, Neeraj Kumar 23 years resident of Adarsh Nagar Sirhind close contact and Gurpreet Singh 18 close contact of Sirhind were reported positive. He said that all have been admitted in Gian Sagar Hospital Banur. He said that yesterday five samples were tested positive.
Meanwhile the District Magistrate Amrit Kaur Gill on the recommendation of civil Surgeon taking a precautionary measure has declared ward number 4 in Khamano town, village Kotla and Behrampur in Bassi Pathana sub division and village Talwara in Amloh sub division as hot spot/ containment area, whereas Adarsh Nagar area in Sirhind town had already been declared hot spot / containment Zone. She has directed that for any activity in these area the permission of DM is required.
Civil Surgeon told that as per today COVID status 1576 Samples were collected out of these 1253 were tested negative and 36 positive, whereas the result of 287 is awaited.
