1200 migrant labourers boarded for Kanpur from Ferozepur
After boarding ‘Shramik Express’, migrant labourers cheer over arrangements of Punjab Govt.
Ferozepur, May 14, 2020: Expressing happiness and complete satisfaction over the arrangements of Punjab government, around 1200 migrant laborers of Utter Pradesh on Thursday evening embark on their about 818 Kilometer long journey to Kanpur district of U.P.
Shri Chander a migrant laborer of Kanpur district after getting on the train said that it was quite appreciating that the Punjab government bore the expenses of their train fares and they were able to move to their native state free of cost. He added that even the food, water, and basic needs were provided by the district administration and they didn’t have to pay a single penny. Shri Chander thanked the Punjab government for its concerted effort to facilitate the thousands of migrant laborers desirous to return to their homes.
Similarly, another migrant laborer Anoop Singh Chandel expressed his happiness over the arrangements saying that social distancing and passenger safety were emphasized on the train. He said that the arrangements made by the district administration Ferozepur were beyond the expectation of migrant laborers traveling to their home states.
Kapil Singh of Kanpur district thanked the Punjab government and DC Ferozepur for their untiring efforts to facilitate the migrant laborers adding he said that they were traveling to their native places free of costs as the free tickets were provided to them by the district administration. Kapil Singh said that the free of cost traveling facility rendered by the Punjab government was unparalleled.
Shatrughan, another migrant laborer hailed the efforts of the state government adding he said that all the arrangements right from bringing them to Ferozepur district, their health screening, taking them to the railway station, and providing them food, water, and other facilities were appreciable.
DC Ferozepur Kulwant Singh said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government was committed to providing the best possible help to the migrant laborers in these difficult times. He said that all the expenses of this train and other following trains will be borne by the state government to provide succor to the migrants leaving in Punjab.
