Migrant Welfare Committees formed by Ludhiana Police
Ludhiana ,May 15, 2020 : Ludhiana Police Commissionerate has decided to form
formed Migrant Welfare Committees in every police station in Ludhiana.
Every migrant welfare committee will have 5 to 12 representatives from migrants. these representatives will be chosen based on their knowledge of migrant issues and capability to solve them apart from acceptability among the migrants.
Disclosing this here today, CP Ludhiana Rakesh Agarwal said that the concerned committee will be responsible to resolve all the issues related to migrants like food, ration, medicines, sending them in trains, work related problems in factories, curfew passes and issues related to shelter homes. Each committee will also arrange 30 volunteers to help the police department in round the clock functioning of migrant desk in the police stations.
