Mounting number of positive cases a matter of concern, appeals people to follow precautions
Sangrur, May 05, 2020: To prevent the spread of Coronavirus, medical screening of suspicious cases has been made compulsory at the inter-state and inter-district entrances of district Sangrur. For this purpose, checkpoints are established at every entrance of the district.
While presiding over the review meeting held at the district complex, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ghanshyam Thori, said that strict vigil is being kept on the people on the checkposts mounted on the entry points of the district. He added that the recent increase in the number of positive cases in Sangrur is a matter of concern for all.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the teams of health department deployed at five special check posts on Punjab-Haryana border of the district would ensure to maintain the proper record of passersby.
He said that checkposts have been set up at Jakhal road Chural Kalan, Jakhal to Bareta road T point Kalia main road, Jakhal road Karail, Tohana road Rampura picket and drain Bridge Kaithal Road, Khanauri. The health department teams are continuously taking samples through the testing pod of the suspected persons coming from the red zone.
The Deputy Commissioner said that residents of Sangrur district returning from the other states or people tested negative after visiting containment zones will be quarantined at the centers set up at
village level or urban level. If someone is tested positive, he/she will be immediately taken to the isolation centers with the help of ambulances in the supervision of specialized doctors and he reviewed the procedure to be followed for the communication with nodal authorities of other states whenever required.
Mr. Thori added that people should ensure compliance with the Govt orders issued from time to time and should practice social distancing, masks and sanitization. He also reviewed the facilities and arrangements at these quarantine centers.
