Jalandhar, June 06, 2020: The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police I Vatsala Gupta today said that no incident of loot has taken place, as of now, on the Brand Rath road and the Commissionerate Police was minutely investigating the entire matter.
Divulging the details, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner of Police Harsmirat Singh, said that today an incident was reported at Police Division Number 4 regarding a loot being done at a shop on Brand Rath road. She said that immediately swinging into action a Police party reached on the spot and started the investigation into the matter. Gupta said that after investigation it came into light that a person named Rahul had approached a shopkeeper saying that he needed money for some work.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Rahul had claimed that he was having a criminal background and was in possession of some weapon. She said that on the occasion the shop owner Dinesh Kumar called another person Amandeep Bhatia who took Rahul out of the shop. Ms. Gupta said that after some time Bhatia asked the shop keeper to make payment to Rahul.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police said that subsequently, Dinesh Kumar handed over Rs 5000 to Bhatia, which was later given to Rahul. She categorically said that as of now no matter of loot has happened to add that the matter was being thoroughly investigated to ascertain whether Rahul was having weapons or not. Gupta said that necessary action would be taken by the Commissionerate Police after the thorough investigation into the matter and guilty would not be spared at any cost.
