S. A. S. Nagar, June 08, 2020: The District Police under the guidance of the SSP Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, is rendering valuable service in ensuring the implementation of one of the most important objectives of 'MISSION FATEH' i.e. wearing of masks and maintaining the social distance in accordance with the guidelines of the Government. Strict action as per the provisions of law is being ensured against those not maintaining proper social distancing and not wearing proper masks besides spitting at public places.
It is in keeping with the above objective that the District Police took strict notice of the incident when a lot of people gathered at the saanjh kendar in the District Administrative Complex thus crowding the place. But taking a corrective view of the incident instead of the punitive one, since it was the first time after unlock 1.0, the district police calmly appealed to the people to comply with the social distancing norms and also decided to deploy extra personnel in future to maintain proper social distance.
It is also noteworthy that from the 20th of May, 2020 till date, the District Police issued a total of 2021 challans. These include 1977 challans for not wearing of the proper masks, 43 challans for spitting at public places and 1 for not maintaining social distance. Amount totalling Rs. 5,78,700 has been collected.
