Jalandhar, June 17, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Ghanshyam Thori today directed the officers of the key departments to extend the benefit of the pro-people and welfare schemes to every genuine beneficiary.
Chairing a meeting to review the various welfare schemes of Punjab government here at his office in the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner said that the well being of weaker and underprivileged sections of the society was the top priority of the state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. He said that this was the need of the hour to ensure that people were extend succour at grass root level.Thori said that officers would be held accountable if there was any sort of lapse on account of this.
The Deputy Commissioner said that providing good governance and clean administration to the people was the top priority of the state government. He said that every effort must be made to ensure that the benefits of these schemes was percolated to every eligible beneficiary at the grass-root level.Thori categorically said that any sort of laxity in the implementation of these social welfare schemes was totally unwarranted and undesirable.
Reviewing the implementation of the schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Shagun, Pension and others, the Deputy Commissioner said that a foolproof mechanism should further be evolved to benefit the needy person.Thori said that he would personally monitor the progress of these schemes and ensure its implementation in the right earnest. He asked the officers to constantly submit the progress report of these schemes to him.
On the occasion District Program Officer Amarjeet Singh Bhullar, District Social Security Officer Varinder Singh Bains, District Welfare Officer Rajinder Singh and others were also present.
