Droli Bhai (Moga), August 01, 2020: Community Health Center, Droli Bhai in Moga district, proved to be a boon for pregnant women at a time when all the facilities were destroyed due to the global pendemic COVID 19. In the wake of this pendemic, the Punjab Government undertook the initiatives to ensure all kinds of health facilities to the people of the state by strengthening the rural health centers which benefited the people immensely. If we talk about Droli Bhai Community Health Center alone, there used to be only 4-5 deliveries in a month but now at the time of crisis, the number has increased to 50 deliveries in a month. This is a testament to the growing confidence of the people in government health institutions.
Disclosing this here today Dr. Inderveer Singh Gill, Senior Medical Officer of the Center said that under the efforts being made by the Punjab Government to strengthen the health centers, the Block level hospital of 43 villages has got a gynecologist after 7 years. Pregnant women and ordinary women have benefited a lot and the hospital is now providing better services. More than 1650 deliveries have taken place in the month of April, May, June and July in the entire district of Moga, most of which are related to this health center.
In addition to this a special campaign was conducted by the mobile teams of the health department to test the pregnant women for COVID19, so that the pregnant women do not have to suffer from pendemic and can get health facility near their homes. In District Moga, 1818 pregnant women underwent COVID19 symptoms and more than 600 were tested at this center alone. The two pregnant women who were diagnosed with COVID19 during the investigation have now recovered after getting treatment at government hospitals.
