Rakhi packets to bear name slip of inmats and be received at outer gates of Jails
Packets should be properly packaged and be sanitised at outer gates
CHANDIGARH, AUGUST 01, 2020: To facilitate people for sending Rakhis to the jail inmates on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan i.e. August 3, the Jails Department has issued detailed direction in this regard with time to receive the rakhis from 8.30am to 5pm.
According to ADGP Jails Praveen Kumar Sinha, all the Superintendents of Jails have been directed that there would be no physical Mulakat allowed on August 3 at the occasion of festival of Rakhsha Bandan. There should be proper arrangement at the outer gate of every Jail, said the ADGP adding that At outer gate a table would be placed where Rakhis would be received. He said that whosoever comes there to handover the Rakhi the same should be properly packed & sanitized at that place before sending it inside the Jail.
The ADGP also asserted that Social Distance should be properly maintained and who so ever comes should stand in the circles made at the receiving place at outer gate with a proper queue of the visitors. He said that the packet of Rakhi must carry a slip bearing the name of the prisoner & the same should be delivered to the prisoner within an hour.
Further pointing that one officer must be deputed with security staff at the outer gate for checking & sanitizing the packets of Rakhi. The said officials must wear Mask & gloves for maintaining a proper safety norm in view of the Covid-19 Pandemic, he added.
The sweets are not allowed, only rakhi will be delivered to the inmates. A small Packets of Mishri is to be sent with each packet of Rakhi & that will be arranged by the Jail Administration at the outer gate of the Jail. The ADGP said that a small sized paper pouch should be made available at the outer gate for packing the loose Rakhi.
