Jalandhar, August 04, 2020: The DC Ghanshyam Thori held a meeting with the heads of the various committees led by SDMs and DDLG, constituted to conduct physical verification of 137 more private hospitals which would be involved for starting treatment to the Covid patients.
The committees have already started taking stock of arrangements and medical infrastructure in 137 more private hospitals in the city to contain further spread of COVID.
Deputy Commissioner told that these private hospitals must be thoroughly checked to ramp up the infrastructure for treating level-2 and level-3 patients of coronavirus in Jalandhar.
He asked them to provide the ground report at the earliest so that medical infrastructure in these hospitals could be utilized for level-2 and level-3 COVID patients.
Thori also deputed a senior medical officer in each committee for the better coordination and they would jointly visit these hospitals to prepare a complete report of bed equipped with piped oxygen supply and ventilators so that best possible treatment can be offered to critical cases.
He said that these hospitals would charge on the maximum rates as fixed by the Punjab Government for the treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked SDMs Gautam Jain, Sanjiv Kumar Sharma,Vineet Kumar, DDLG Darbara Singh and others to ensure smooth coordination between these hospitals and administration to avoid any inconvenience.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the district administration has chalked out a detailed program to arrest the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that focused efforts are being made for early detection and isolation through aggressive testing and efficient clinical management.
He called upon people to remain cautious and follow physical distancing, respiratory etiquettes, and meticulous hand hygiene and avoid touching face, eyes and nose.
