Process of filling up the posts of 90 Ayurvedic Medical Officers has started
Chandigarh, August 04, 2020: The Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today issued appointment letters to 19 Unani Medical Officers.
Giving details, Mr. Sidhu said that last year, 104 Ayurvedic Medical Officers had been recruited in Ayurvedic Department Punjab those were providing the special services to control the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that apart from this the process of filling up the vacancies of 90 more Ayurvedic Medical Officers is already started.
He further said that the process of recruitment of 17 Ayurvedic Medical Officers, 10 Massagers, 5 Kasar Sutra Attendants and 5 Gynecological Attendants on contract basis in the department has almost completed and appointment letters would be issued to them soon.
The Health Minister said that under the National AYUSH Mission Scheme, new AYUSH hospitals with 50 beds were being set up in Mohali and Moga districts. These hospitals would provide Ayurvedic, Unani, Yog, Naturopathy and Homoeopathic treatment services and all such services would be provided free of cost under AYUSH programme .
In addition to this, 117 Ayurvedic Dispensaries in the state would be developed as Health & Wellness Centers and free health care facilities would be provided in more efficient manner under the Ayurveda Programme. These Healthcare Centers will also have 117 part-time qualified instructors.
On the occasion Secretary Health, Mr. Kumar Rahul, Director Health Services Dr. Avneet Kaur, Director Health & Family Welfare Prabhdeep Kaur Johal and Director Ayurveda, Dr. Rakesh Sharma were also present.
